An abstract in English, limited to 200-300 words in a single paragraph is required. The abstract should contain a concise but comprehensive statement of your verbal presentation. Do not include tables or figures in the abstract. Insert your name, affiliation, city and country (see abstract example below).
IPS have no preference whether English or American spelling is used although uniformity within each abstract is required. Latin words (i.e. plant names) or phrases are in italics, with the exception of very common expressions such as "i.e.," "e.g.," "et al.," "in vitro" and "etc."
Use Calibri font. Titles are printed in 14 point, abstract text should be 11 point.
Use the metric system exclusively. Use abbreviation L for liter, mg L-1 for milligram(me) per liter, mL for milliliter, µL for microliter and t for tons. SI units can be used where appropriate.
The title and abstract will be freely available on the websites of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Moor- und Torfkunde (DGMT) and International Peatland Society (IPS) and should be considered an advertisement for the DGMT/IPS convention May 13-15 2019. Abstracts will be read by most website viewers. Thus, abstracts should be carefully and accurately written.
